What will Level track?
Level tracks your steps, calories burned, distance traveled, and overall time off the couch. The “Find My Glasses” feature, which you can activate should you misplace your Level glasses, uses a geo-tracker to show an approximate location of your glasses on a map, based on the last time the Level app synced with the glasses.
How accurate is the data?
It all starts with your steps. Because Level is located on the body’s center of axis, our brilliant engineers designed a step count algorithm that accurately tracks purposeful steps, while cancelling out non-step “noise” or movements. From steps, let’s go to distance. Level detects steps within a time interval, derives a cadence, then puts that data through a model that relates cadence with a height multiplier to determine stride length. From stride lengths, we can calculate distance in miles. And finally, a note on calories. Calories are a notoriously difficult number to generate with 100% accuracy, simply because each person’s caloric burn rate is different and relies on a number of factors. Level looks at your height, your weight, and the intensity and duration of your activity time to generate an approximation. Bottom line, Level’s use of sensors to track your steps is intended to provide a close estimation of your activity, but no wearable device, including Level, can guarantee absolute accuracy.
Is Level intended for medical purposes?
No. Level’s activity tracking functions, and the data collected by Level, are not intended to diagnose, monitor, treat, cure, or prevent any medical disease or condition. Always consult your physician before beginning or modifying any exercise program. (Yes, our lawyers told us we had to tell you this.)
Is the data that Level collects about me secure?
Yes. VSP Global, the developer of Level, is a healthcare organization. That means the data captured from your Level device will be handled with care and security.
Is my data for sale?
Your personally identifiable data will never be shared or sold without your authorization. We may choose to share de-identified and aggregated data.
What data do you collect?
When you create an account in the app, Level collects required information including: name, email, date of birth, height, weight, and gender, which customizes your step algorithm. Once you have registered and synced your glasses, Level collects activity-tracking info relevant to the app functionality, including steps, calories burned, distance traveled, and total activity time.
Can Level share data with 3rd party health and fitness apps (e.g. Apple Health, Google Fit, etc.)?
Not currently. Though if you think this is a good idea, let us know.
Am I able to connect with and share data with other Level users via the Level app?
Yes. You can connect with other friends and family who use the Level app by entering the email address they used to create their Level account. We know entering a correct email address to find your fellow Level friends can be a pain. But we set it up this way to help ensure your privacy and give you the chance to hand-select your network.
Where can I purchase Level?
Level is currently available for purchase in select U.S. markets through specific VSP Premier Program locations and on-line at Eyeconic.com. Click the “Get Level” tab on the website to search for a location in your area.
Is Level available to everyone?
Level is available to individuals in the United States who are 13 years of age and over.
Will my Level glasses be replaced if they break or they don’t work?

Will my Level glasses be replaced if they are lost or stolen?
You will be responsible for replacement if your glasses are lost or stolen.
Are Level glasses waterproof?
The glasses are designed to be water-resistant (although they are not meant to be submerged in water). Dry your glasses with a soft cloth if they get wet, paying careful attention to the charging port. Allow the glasses to completely dry before attempting to charge.
How do I clean my Level glasses and/or charging port?
The lenses and frames should be cleaned with lens cleaning fluid (with no more than 6% isopropyl alcohol), drying well with a soft lens cloth. However, avoid placing excessive amounts of rubbing alcohol on the temple with the LED light. Do not submerge in any liquid. Allow the glasses to completely dry before attempting to charge.
Do I need to take any other special care when handling my Level glasses?
The electronics in your glasses will perform best when kept in the recommended temperature range of -4°F to 140°F. When charging, make sure that the temperature is not outside the 32°F to 113°F range. Just like other electronics, leaving your Level glasses on the dashboard of your car on a hot day is also not recommended as the heat can both damage the electronics and warp the frame materials. And just like all eyeglasses, to better protect your Level glasses we recommend that you put them in their case, wrapped in the lens cloth, when not in use.
Is there special handling required when adjusting my Level glasses for better fit?
Adjustments for Level smart glasses require some special handling because of the electronics inside the temple of the glasses. Air heat can be used on the bridge of the glasses and on the tips of the temples, but do not use heat on the thick parts of the temples. Regular lens cleaning fluid can be used to clean glasses, but avoid submerging in any liquid.
What if my prescription isn’t right in my Level glasses?
Please call your VSP network doctor’s office where you purchased your Level glasses. If you purchased your glasses on Eyeconic.com, please call 855-393-2664.
How do I set up my Level glasses for the first time?
How often do my Level glasses sync with the Level app?
Your Level glasses are continuously syncing in the background, about every 15 minutes if the Level app is closed. When the app is open, syncing occurs approximately every 60 seconds. If you are having trouble, check that your wireless connectivity and internet connections are working and that the Level glasses are charged. If you are still having trouble, close and re-open the app or restart your phone. If none of these tips work, call Level Customer Support at 844-630-6395 Monday through Friday from 7:00am PT to 5:00pm PT.
Does the app require internet connection?
Many of the features are internet-enabled and a Wi-Fi or data connection is required to log into the app. However, an internet connection is not required to sync your glasses with the Level app.
Do I always need to have my phone with me?
No. As long as your Level glasses remain charged, your data will be stored in your glasses until you are able to sync with your phone (up to four weeks of typical activity). But, seriously, where do folks go nowadays without their phone?
Will the wireless connection with Level impact or be impacted by the wireless connection with other devices (e.g. smart watches, wireless speakers, headphones, etc.)?
Can I sync the data to multiple smartphones/devices?
You can connect your glasses to a different smartphone should you replace your phone, but the Level glasses will only bond and connect with one device at a time. Connecting to your glasses with another smartphone will require you to go through the initial connecting/syncing process.
Will replacement batteries be available if the battery stops holding a charge?
If you believe your battery isn’t holding a charge, please contact Level Customer Support at 844-630-6395 to troubleshoot.
What is the lifecycle of the battery and how often does the battery need to be charged?
Although battery life depends on use (basically, how active you are), a full charge should last you for about five days. We recommend charging your Level glasses as soon as the battery level indicator shows one bar or when you receive the low battery notification.
What should I do if my battery isn’t charging?
Make sure the charging cable is plugged into an active source and that good contact is made between the connector and the glasses. If you still do not see the LED light up, contact Level Customer Support at 844-630-6395.
How do I maximize Level’s battery life?
The device is designed to maximize battery life. There are no extra steps you need to take to ensure a longer-lasting battery life. Our engineers are pretty cool that way.
How do I charge my Level glasses?
Close the arms of the frame to reveal the charging port on the inside hinge on the left-wearing side (or temple). Plug the USB charging cable into an active source and connect into the revealed charging port. Once charging, the LED light on the inside of the temple should blink. When the light remains solid, it is fully charged.
What if I lose my charging cable or wall adapter?
The charging cable and wall adapter that accompanies your Level glasses is a universal USB micro-charging cable and wall adapter. You can easily purchase a new cable or wall adapter from any electronics store—you may even have an extra one in your “junk drawer” at home already.
Do I need to dispose of Level in a particular way because of the battery?
Of course, we all care about the environment. Please contact your local waste disposal department to dispose of the eyewear/batteries in accordance with applicable local laws and regulations.
Are there any visual indicators on my Level glasses? If so, what will they be?
There is one LED visual indicator near the front, inside the left “arm” or temple. The LED will be off when the glasses are not connected to the charging cable. During charging it will flash purple and become solid purple when fully charged.
How do I restart Level?
You cannot restart your Level glasses. To restart the Level app, make sure you close the app in the background. Then click on the Level app icon and it will restart.
How do I update the Level hardware?
At this time, no hardware updates are planned. Firmware updates, if necessary, will be pushed via the app. If there is a firmware update available, an “Update Glasses” button will appear on the My Glasses screen in the app. Please be sure to apply any update as soon as you can to ensure an optimal experience.

Can I turn the alerts or notifications off?
From the Level app menu, click on ‘settings’ to adjust notifications. You can also manage notifications in your phone’s settings.
Can I export Level data to my MAC/PC?
No, not at this time. Would you want to? If you would, let us know. We might add this feature in the future.
Can I manually delete any of the data?
Can I change the language on the Level app?
No, at this time the app is only available in English.
Will there be a web interface available to view the data?
Information will only be available in the companion app.
Can I modify the information on the Level app dashboard?
No….that would be cool though.
What if I forgot my password?
From the log in screen, click on “Forgot password?”. Enter your email and Level will send an email to you with a link to reset your password. The sender on the email will be “firstname.lastname@example.org” and it may take a few minutes to receive. If you don’t see the email in your inbox, be sure to check your junk email folder. Follow the instructions to reset your password and then log in to the Level app with your new password.
Can I change the email address for my Level account?
No, not at this time. You will need to create a new account if you want to use a different email address. However, your Level data will not be transferrable.
What do I do if my Level glasses are not syncing with my Level app?
Close the app (including closing the app in the background). You may also want to disconnect your Level glasses and reconnect them by turning your phone’s wireless/Bluetooth connections off and on again in your phone settings. Then click on the Level icon to relaunch your Level app. Wait a few minutes for your phone and Level glasses to reconnect and sync. If the problem doesn’t resolve, please contact Level Customer Support at 844-630-6395.
How do I download the Level app?
The Level app is available to download for free from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
How do I change my profile information or my step goal?
Click on Settings from the menu in the Level app, then select Profile. You can edit any of the fields except for Stretch Goal, which is automatically calculated to be 50% more than your Daily Goal. Select Save when you are finished updating your profile. Any change to the Daily Goal will reflect on the dashboard the following day.
Can I change which community I would like to donate to?
No, not at this time. But you can provide recommendations on local charities you would like earned Level donations to go to by contacting us. We can’t make any promises, our lawyers won’t let us, but we will try.
How do I connect my glasses?
After you create your account in the Level app, you will be prompted to scan the QR code that came with your Level glasses. If you’ve misplaced your QR code, simply select “Type in 6 digit code”. Look at the inside arm of your Level glasses for the six-digit code and type it in. The glasses will pair with your phone, which may take a minute or two. If you have difficulty, make sure your Level glasses are charged and your wireless connection to Level is activated on your phone. If connecting for the first time, make sure that the charger is plugged into the glasses and into an outlet.
How do I update the Level app/software?
Software updates, if necessary, will be pushed via the Level app. You’ll need to install the update to continue using the Level app. Please, please install the update(s). We will miss you if you don’t!
Is the Level app able to display real-time data from the Level glasses?
Information will be available in near real-time. While your Level glasses are in constant sync via a successful wireless connection, expect to see your activity update approximately every 60-seconds while the app is open.
How often does the Level app log me out?
If you do not use your Level glasses (with wireless connection to phone) or you do not access the Level app in a 12-hour period, you will need to log back in with your email address and password. This security is required to protect your data. So get up and move! As long as you are active, you won’t be logged out. (We even gave you enough time to sleep in on the weekends). We will add biometric login soon.
How much does Level cost?
Level smart glasses have an MSRP of $270, which excludes prescription lenses. Final price will vary based on a number of factors, including lens enhancements, the application of vision insurance benefits, and retail location. Please contact an authorized Level provider in your area for more information.
What size are the Level glasses?
Level glasses are available in three styles and one size each: NIKOLA LV100: 51–19-140, MINSKY LV200: 53–16-140, HEDY LV300: 53–17-140.
What is the danger of having a device using wireless connectivity so close to my head?
According to FDA research, there exists no evidence that links health problems to prolonged exposure to radio frequency fields, such as those produced by cell phones, Wi-Fi, etc. For comparison’s sake, Level transmits 160 microwatts of output power via wireless connectivity. A cell phone transmits roughly 251 milliwatts (or, about 1,600 times as much). Wi-Fi transmits about 200 milliwatts of output power (or, about 1,250 times as much). However, if you have a pacemaker or other internal electronic device, consult your physician before using any activity tracking device that monitors motion, such as Level.
I lost my Level glasses, what can I do?
The “Find My Glasses” feature on the Level app may be able to assist you in locating your glasses. When you open the Level app, click on the menu, then click on “My Glasses.” If your Level glasses are out of range, they will be disconnected and you will see a “Find My Glasses” button. Click that button and the app will show you where your Level glasses were the last time they synced to the app. If your Level glasses are within range, aka the button doesn’t appear, then they are probably on your head—where we often misplace our own glasses.
I don’t need a prescription. Can I just have non-prescription lenses put into the Level frames (either clear or sun)?
Yes, both prescription and non-prescription can be accommodated, however, coverage limitations may apply when using your vision benefits. Check with your doctor to verify if non-prescription lenses are covered. Level glasses also look really cool as prescription and non-prescription sunglasses—in our not-so-humble opinion.
